I’d like to throw out a special thank you to HOW magazine for their incredibly flattering write up of Alright Sans in the latest issue. So, yeah, thanks HOW. And to any one just discovering Okay Type via the article, thank you for not being an iPad jocking internet hipster*. Long live real magazines.

The other day we received a nice email asking about the new Okay Type logo. We’ve been working on some tedious shit lately and jumped at the opportunity to do something different and fun. We rifled through our process archive (aka: a pile of paper), scanned a few sketches, took some screenshots, and quickly wrote some notes. Admittedly, the results are a little dry. But if you like looking at sloppy sketches, or have some time to kill, you can check it out on Type Theory.
A week or so ago, John Boardley, of the preeminent type blog I love Typography, posted his list of favorite typefaces of 2009. We were completely knocked out of our socks to find our own Alright Sans on the list. To have our work appear alongside that of people like Jean François Porchez, Jeremy Tankard, Christian Schwartz, Xavier Dupré, Hoefler & Frere-Jones,and Mark Simonson, is beyond amazing to us. Seriously, we’re blown away. Go over and check it out if you haven’t yet, it’s an outstandingly well-composed piece with thoughtful write-ups and huge showings (really, they put our to big graphics to shame). Oh, and all of the typefaces are excellent. We really like Trilby.

We’re pretty excited to announce that the folks at MyFonts have put Alright Sans in their Top 10 Fonts of 2009. How rad is that?

Before we disappear in an avalanche of tax paperwork, we wanted to say thank you to everyone who has supported us in the last year. Launching Okay Type has been overwhelming: designing, testing, marketing, supporting, not to mention the oceans of paperwork and other confusing business crap. There’s no way we would have gotten through it without all the words of encouragement from our friends and peers. So thank you, and we’re really excited about 2010.

Welcome to the beta version of the alpha version of the Okay Type website.
